Interview and Hiring experience for
The worst interview experience I have had so far. After hearing both positive and negative comments on this company, I decided to give it a try and applied for two positions relevant to my background and skills. To be honest, the main reason that made me apply for the announced vacancies was the top management and the consultants chosen from the UK. For your knowledge, I was a candidate who obtained a Master degree in a Media related subject in one of the UK leading universities and also worked for an international company in London. So, you could imagine why it was important to me... After a week or so, I get a call from a girl who tried to explain in Armenian that they want me to invite me for the interview. Dear BetConstruct, first of all, I am sure there are employees in your office who can at least speak fluent Armenian in Armenia. At the same time, one of my friends tells me that the company mostly applies internal recruitment, especially for the positions that are not IT related. After the "interview" with 2 HR girls, I realized for 100% that was my case and I was in a wrong place. The other young girl who pretended to be "cool" and "funny" asked me if I can give her 3-4 minutes so that she can have a look at my CV to ask additional questions. (I had to wait for 30 minutes and was wondering if it was not possible to look at it before and prepare questions in advance...). So, I waited for a few minutes and the question was "Can you tell us about yourself?" What a situational question...! Secondly, company spends a lot of money on marketing and PR materials, however there was no sign to the so called BetConstruct office. It was just a garage with a worn-out banner of "Vivaro". I liked the open space inside, something that reminded me of the London work environment. Unfortunately, it was just a moment because when I had to wait for 30 minutes, I could not even breath because of the smell. There was no normal air conditioning, whereas hundreds of computers were running... I am starting a new job next week in one of the reputable international organizations and decided to invest my time to write about the interview experience at this company. If you have just finished your studies, maybe this company will be a good place to start but if you are experienced and you have international experience, please don't waste your time. The young and ......... HR girls will make your Armenian experience miserable.
